Are you unsure whether your business has reached a plateau? Is your business still growing and progressing? If you are unsure take a look at these top 5 signs and decide whether it’s time to do things differently:

1. Nothing is working – You’re using multiple marketing methods e.g. newspaper ads, yellow pages, direct mail, social media and networking but you still aren’t receiving as many clients as you want or need.

2. You have no accountability – Are you in a position where you have read all the relevant marketing books, attended all the local marketing seminars and maybe even gone as far as hiring some help. Perhaps you know the basics of marketing but you just haven’t had the time or energy to create a successful marketing plan that works. However it is vital you find the time if your business is to progress. Remember your accountable for your business' growth so the buck lies with you.

3. You’re not getting objective feedback – Your family and friends have been fantastic at stroking your ego and reassuring you that your product or service is exceptional and a must have, but your sales are telling a different story. Make sure you carry out a professional market research survey to receive objective opinions from the people who can lead you in the right direction and offer a fresh perspective to your business.

4. You don’t have time to do all the marketing research on your own – You have acquired a large tool set over the years and now see yourself as an expert in your industry. You can’t possibly be a marketing expert as well; you don’t have the time to learn the important things that will take your business to the next tier. Your business reaps higher benefits when you spend your precious time on the aspects you're most effective at. So your marketing efforts to suffer.

5. Waiting is costing your business money - How much time, money, resources and opportunities do you waste on all the wrong marketing tactics? Really – this isn’t a rhetorical question, take the time to figure it out. You have to work out which strategies are time and cost effective for your business to grow.
