What To Do When You Have Nothing to Blog About
2012-03-21

Blog post ideas, ideas for blog, blog ideas, girls ideas, innovative thinking, blogging tips, blog tips,

At some point you are going to run out of ideas on what you can blog about, especially if you’re writing a new blog post every day. When this happens don’t switch off your computer or close the lid on your laptop, instead pick one of the five post-savers which Lisa Barone identified on smallbiztrends.com:

1. Write About How You Started
Behind every great business is a memorable story. Your readers or potential buyers will always be interested to hear how your business got where it is now. If you did start-up your own business explain the problems you encounter in your industry and how you were able to solve them. I’m sure there is something unique that drove you and that still drives you. Let people in on this secret.

By writing down and sharing your experience you are essentially adding more web content about yourself and business, which could convert a potential customer into a buyer. Just think you could end up landing a new deal because you didn’t have anything to write about.

2. Pimp Out A Product/Service Page, Share It
If you are struggling for ideas, look at your product or service pages. Is there any information you are missing or anything you think could use a little more attention. If the answer is yes think of creative ways to transfer this information e.g. including imagery, video, audio clip, adding a humorous touch etc. However you decide to present this information make sure once you have finished it you share it. Doing so will help consumers learn more about your product or service and drive them deeper into your website where conversion takes place.

3. Interview Someone You Admire
If you can’t think of something unique to say, find someone who does. Try and recall someone who told you an interesting story or experience. Call them up and ask them five quick questions to help you structure your blog post. Make sure you keep it fast, friendly and informative!

4. Write About Your Best/Worst Experience
In life and business we all have ups and downs. If you have a positive or negative experience related to your business or industry, share it. People enjoy reading about personal experiences as it helps them learn and develop. It will also strengthen the relationship between you and your customers as they will be able to relate with you on a human level.

5. Share A Product You Love
You know which products, apps and services work best for your company so let others know this information. Give personal reviews and open up about the different technologies you use in the day-to-day running of your business. This will provide a transparent view into your operations teaching customers about the entire process of their product or service.

Finding new interesting content to share with your audience isn’t always easy, so the next time you are struggling for ideas use one of the post-savers above!
