3 Marketing Things We Do Wrong That We Could Easily Do Right
2012-01-03

marketing mistake, marketing problems, marketing advice, market research support

Jamillah Warner from smallbusinesstrends.com identified three common marketing flaws, which a large amount of small business owners tend to make.

The confused vision –After several years operating a small business, visions and goals can become unclear. It is vital to remember who you are, what your business stands for and whom your target audience is. This New Year make time to re-assess the heart of your business by redefining your businesses overall vision. A vision doesn’t cost any money but it could cost your business!

The ‘I can’t afford it’ excuse – Unfortunately not all small business owners have the ability to create their own visual designs. If you can’t afford to outsource this work to a professional don’t just settle for a second rate job. If you aren’t happy with your own efforts, use a college student who is studying and practicing design. That way you are able to save money and the student will have valuable work experience to add to their portfolio.

The inconsistent message – Once you have established a clear vision start delivering a consistent message to your target audience. Its clear Apple is an innovative company who always think outside the box. Think about the message you are giving your customers, is it clear?

These three actions are very simple and cost effective, but they do take time to implement. If you have lost sight of the above it’s worth conducting some quick market research to get back on track. If you need help or support with market research our friendly professional at Marketest will be happy to offer expert advice.
